What do you love about SPENGA?

The first moment I walked into SPENGA I knew it was going to be my new fitness community.  I immediately loved that it is a studio, where all levels are welcome, and it has that Cheers vibe where “everybody knows your name”. Fitness is so often a judgemental zone, but here at Spenga LIttleton it is a safe place created for all to learn, grow, succeed and be a part of something bigger, something special, and something exceptional. That something is a fitness family.  It starts from the moment you walk through the door and are always greeted with an energetic hello.  The instructors are committed to your success as a person and are ready to push you past your own limits. But the best part of all is the way the members love being there. We are all there for our 1 hour to do something for ourselves.  To share it with good people who want the same push and drive, is pretty special to me. SPENGA is where you will set the intention for your day. So you ask why I love SPENGA?  SPENGA is my happy place, regardless of if I’m working out, instructing members, building relationships or managing the team, I love it ALL!

What is your favorite time to take a session?

I used to love to take sessions late in the day, but I have found a new love for the morning sessions.  Let’s not go crazy though, none of that 5:15 am stuff!  But 6:30am and 8am are my jams.  It sets my day up for success.  I also think it allows me to get the one thing in my day that is for ME done early, so life can’t get in the way.

Favorite Format?

If I had to pick just one, I think my favorite would be Turbulence. I love strength, and the 60 seconds gives me the opportunity to be very slow and controlled in my movements.  The 30 seconds following gives me a burst of cardio, but not enough to fatigue me too much before my next strength movement.

What is your favorite Spin, Strength and Yoga move?

 rebecca

In spin I like to climb, heavy and slow, because I can feel the strength building in my legs, life can be heavy, so I like to let it all go on the bike!

Strength- I love TRX (stay tuned for my TRX why is it so amazing, BLOG coming soon).  The TRX encompass our core in every movement, and helps with daily functionality regardless of age or fitness level.

What is your go to pre or post-workout snack?

My go to pre-workout snack (an hr. or two before) is half an avocado on ½ cup homemade hashbrowns, over medium egg on top (substitute egg whites) finished off with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes!

30 min before is 6 oz of homemade bone broth. So delicious and nutritious!

We know you aren’t *supposed* to choose...but fess up. RIDE, REP, or REVIVE?!

If you know me, Rep would usually be my answer, but since joining Spenga, it has become Ride.  I have never felt comfortable in a spin session, I felt defeated.  The way Spenga uses the sweet spot as the focus really helps it become the you vs you mentality SPENGA always mentions.  You get to push yourself, not worrying about where others are.  I also love how YOU and only You can make it go up!

What are you reading? Binge watching?

Atomic Habits - James Clear, it's awesome, check it out, the audio is good as well. I am not going to lie, I do not watch much TV, unless I'm on a plane! Lol, so the last show I binged watched was Workin’ Moms, it’s hilarious.

Favorite song right now?

I am a big lover of the meaning of songs.  So my favorite and it’s an old one, but I love it, is Grateful by Neffex.

Favorite spot in Littleton?

Other than SPENGA Littleton of course, my favorite spots in Littleton are Grant Ranch, because they have beautiful paths to walk. Red Rocks for the workouts, and Combi Cafe (in the Broadstone) for the quiet presence and the staff.

Favorite Restaurants in Littleton?

Probably Lake House Tavern for the view, food and service. I also love 303 Bar and Grill for the staff, (again the Cheers feeling), the patrons and their wings.  Vibe foods for truly healthy choices, it’s family owned and the bone broth is INCREDIBLE.  Nekter Juice bar for the fact that when my son had jaw surgery and was wired shut for 3 weeks, it was the only thing he could drink/eat that gave him the nutrients he needed.

Lakehouse Tavern-8026 W Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO 80123

303 Sports Grill- 8025 W Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO 80123

Vibe Foods- 7301 S Santa Fe Dr #110, Littleton, CO 80120

Nekter Juice Bar-5866 S Wadsworth Blvd, Littleton, CO 80123

What is your guilty pleasure?

Watching workout videos on Instagram for far longer than I should before bed and if we are talking about food….frozen Reese's peanut butter cups in raspberry ice cream. I know that sounds weird, but try it and let me know what you think.
